Where’s Emmanuel from?

Sometimes, when I am asked that question, I reply by asking: “are you wondering where I am originally from, or do you want to know where I live?”It always makes the person asking me the question smile even though they’re interested in knowing my country of origin. Well, I am originally from the Democratic Republic of Congo. I grew up in the Congo, but my birth country is Belgium.Of course, you are just about to ask me how I ended up in the United States.I don’t know how to answer that in a few paragraphs. It’s a story that goes back to when I was a teenager. I knew some day I would be in a country like the United States. It was not my plan. But, it was God’s.I know I am where I should be in this season of my life because there is a specific mission that I hope I’m doing. The “why” for being where I’m living right now is what defines my calling. I am here on earth to help anyone I encounter live with clarity and confidence so that they can lead a successful life.

A Little Bit About My Family

Belka, Emly, Lydia & Emmanuel

Emmanuel Naweji

Family is the first place where I have to begin serving and helping.  My mission, within my family, is to love, support and train them to be the best people the world has ever had.

As a husband, it’s my calling to be the best person, partner and friend to Lydia.

As a father, it’s my responsibility to care for Emly and Belka, my daughters.

Life’s all about giving back!

Who we’ve become and what we have is a result of what someone else has given up. We may have acquired and received what we have as a gift from somebody.

“If you wait until you can do everything for everybody, instead of something for somebody, you’ll end up not doing nothing for nobody.” ~ Malcom Bane

Lots of people have used their talents, gifts and skills to invest in me. I’m the product of what other people have been in my life.

So. why not give back?

Two Primary Ways I Give Back

Help shape the future of our community

It’s my commitment to coach seniors in High School learn how to develop their personal mission statements. The goal is to help them begin getting a sense of who they are now and who they would like to be in the future.

It is a free program I offer to schools.

If you would like me to do it for your school,  CONTACT ME

Empowering Young Africans for the Development of Africa

The second way I give back is to support young African people through the organization, a friend of mine are forming: “Empowering 4 Success.”

The program is to coach, mentor and allow young people in Africa to get a chance to visit some of the most developed countries. The hope is that after their exposure to social and economic life in countries such as the U.S., Canada, etc., they are able to apply what they learn in their countries of origin.

A Pastor

I’ve been serving as a Pastor through the United Methodist Church in Iowa since 2008.

My calling to serve is something I’ve done since when I was a teenager in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

God has called me to help people receive Jesus Christ in their lives and grow in their relationship with God, as children of God. I write a little bit about that through my blog.

A Blogger

I discovered blogging a few years ago. I would probably say around the year 2005. I blogged on and off until September of 2009. At that point a blog I had was under the name, SoisFort (Be strong, in French). You can also find some of my older blog posts here.

In August of 2010, I switched to a different platform and eventually end up on WordPress. What you come across on my current blog goes back to 2015 since I’ve been intensively blogging.

The three primary categories on my blog include: spirituality, influence and productivity.

An Author

I started self-publishing my sermons this year. The idea came out of finding ways to fund our mission trip to Haiti.

My books are on Amazon, Barnes and Noble and Lulu.

Go here to get a copy of any of my books.

The purchase of a book is a means to help the people in need. And, thank you so much for doing so.

Do you wonder how I do all that?

Much of what helps me accomplish all this without burning out is what I sometimes share through my blog. Make sure you join the others so that you receive an update every time there is a new blog post, which will help you with some practical insights on spirituality, influence and productivity. In case you have not subscribed, it’s not too late. Do it using the form below.
