3 Practices To Help You Live With Purpose Today

Live With Purpose Today!

Knowing why you are here on earth, in itself, is quite a challenge. “So, how then will I live with purpose?” That is exactly the question you could ask me.

In this short post, I am going to describe 3 practices that can help you and I live purposefully.

These practices, over time, will develop habits that can foster your growth as a godly human being.

First, Endure And Be Encouraged.

This is a tough one especially when you are going through life’s storms. Depending on what time of the day when you read this post, an easy way to do this is through prayer.

Ask God for endurance and encouragement. By doing so, you will really be surprised to see what kind of people and things God will put on your way to help you keep up with life.

Second, Be In Harmony With People And Jesus Christ.

The second practice to help you live purposefully is finding balance in life. This is made possible through being in harmony with people and Jesus Christ.

Being in harmony is a choice that will require you to be intentional about it.

Today, make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord. (Hebrews 12: 14, NIVUK)

Based on the above statement, it is clear that being in harmony with people goes hand in hand with being in harmony with God.

In order to get a sense of purpose today, we therefore need to intentionally seek harmony with all.

Third, Glorify God.

The last thing that helps us live with purpose is to give all the credit back to God.

But, here is another tough question. Who really never wants to get credit for what they have accomplished?

Life often seems to be the fruit of our labor. But, in reality, it is not. It is a gift from God. There is nothing we could have given God to be born and become who we are today.

What have we really done to deserve to be alive today? Are we better than people who just lost their lives in Colorado? No, we are not. So, everything we have and are is a gift coming from God. Why don’t we just be thankful for that?

Giving glory for the rest of the day before it even starts and ends will help you find clarity throughout the day.

Living purposefully means starting the day and ending it with God. It means being enduring and encouraged, living in harmony with God and other people!

Please, pray with me using Paul’s words:
“God of endurance and encouragement, grant me to live in harmony with you and everyone else. Help join other people, in accord with Christ Jesus, to glorify You as the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.” (Adapted from Romans 15:5-6, ESV).
