God’s Life Gives Us Meaning in Life

Finding meaning is a struggle for every human being, and at any stage in their lives.

In this post, I am going to show you that God’s life is what gives us meaning in life.

Here’s what God’s Life is all about?

God’s life is Word generating life

What this means is God’s Word is God Himself according to John 1: 1-2. The Word was with God in the beginning and the Word is God.

Today, God’s Word is revealed to us through Jesus Christ. We learn about Christ through the written Word of God that we call the Bible.

It is God’s Word that called into existence everything we know of today. In Genesis 1, Scripture says that God spoke and things came to be. Even for the creation of humans, God spoke about the intention of making humans in His own image (Genesis 1:26). Of course, Genesis 2 talks about God forming Adam out of dust.

The power of God’s Life is the creative force that comes with the gift of life we receive from God through faith in Jesus Christ.

Creativity, inspiration and enthusiasm are such great gifts we receive through God’s life.

God’s life is light to the world

God came to humankind as Light in darkness, but the world did not receive Him (John 1: 4).

Light that comes with God’s life does two things:

  • It enlightens us. God’s Life gives us clarity because with His light, we can see again where we are and where we should be headed to in life.
  • It overcomes darkness in us. Darkness represents anything that prevents us from seeing and experience God. Darkness kills joy, enthusiasm, passion and creativity.

God’s life is supernatural

We receive God’s life not because of human will or power (John 1: 13). It is something God gives us in spite of what humans think.

Those who believe in Jesus Christ and receive Him, God gives them the power to become children of God. (John 1: 12).

Becoming children of God means reclaiming our original state of being. We ressemble again our Father in goodness, grace and love.

Here’s what God’s life does for us:

God’s life gives you meaning and fulfillment

Meaning comes out of the experience of having God’s light in life. As I pointed out earlier, because of God’s light, 2 things happen:

  • You now can see clearly. Clarity in life is very important. There is no way to find meaning if you have no idea of who you are and who to become in the future.
    • Lack of clarity affects your performance and entirety of life in your family, at work, at school, and everywhere you may be.
    • God, dwelling in your heart, will illumine all places in your your life that are still dark. You will be able to see again.
  • You now overcome anything that prevents you from growing as a person. Now that you have clarity, you pretty much become unstoppable.
    • You become able to grow in all aspects of who you are.
    • Fulfillment becomes a reality in your life. Every time you know who you are and who you would like to be in the future, life becomes a little much easier and rewarding. You experience fulfillment as a result of clarity leading to personal balance in your everyday living.

God’s life gives us provision and supply on the journey

God’s life gives you provision. When you know who you are and who you should be in the future, it also becomes easier to know what you need to move from here to there.

When you receive God’s life you will also receive the power and right to become children of God. In there, you find provision and supply for your journey.

In the case of the disciples (Acts 1 & 2), the disciples received the Holy Spirit. Jesus, Himself, told Nicodemus that in order to inherit God’s Kingdom, one has to be born of water and the Spirit. These two represent the tools we need: God’s forgiveness and God’s Spirit.

God’s forgiveness implies a life of holiness, which is sustained through a life of spiritual discipline done in the context of community. That is what the disciples did in the first century, and which worked for them.

Christians, who have a vibrant faith, are the ones who daily practice spiritual disciplines and who make sure the Holy Spirit dwells in their hearts all the time.  Spiritual disciplines consist of: prayer, study of God’s Word, Christian fellowship with other believers and daily serving others.

Yes, that’s the provision and the supply God’s life gives us. These will help you find meaning and purpose every single day of your life.

God’s life mends and strengthens us

Even though you’ve got clarity and have all the supply from God, you will still live in this broken world. Life around you does not improve overnight and just because yours has been transformed.

Therefore, you will likely encounter resistance, frictions with other people. You will go through loss, grief, disappointments leaving you with quite a few wounds and tears in life.

God’s life mends and strengthens you.

God will place a patch on every single tear in your life. God will heal your wounds. God will wipe away your tears.

In summary, God’s life is all you need. You will get clarity about who you are and who you should be. You will receive provision for the journey. God’s life will mend and strengthen you all the days of your life. As a result of all this, you will have meaning and purpose that no one can offer you!

So, please share with me what makes you feel fulfilled in your life. How do you get clarity on who you are today and who you should be in the future?

Please, share this post with a friend or a family member, you think, may need these words in this moment of his (her) life.
